Awesome new Rage trailer stamps authority

A brand new gameplay trailer of Rage, id software's visceral new shooter, has just released - and it's a corker.The three minute trailer which you can see on our specially constructed and rather magnificent widescreen Rage Page reveals previously unseen details on the shooter, as well as unveiling the first glimpse of your ultimate post-apocalyptic opponents, the sinister Authority. It also offers a quick and lethal introduction to the game, beginning with the asteroid which smashes into earth, which consigns you to decades in cryogenic suspension in a subterranean ark.Waking into the post-apocalyptic wasteland it's a new and dangerous world that awaits, full of mutant clans, Max Max-style death races and of course id's traditional devotion to copious amounts of heavy weaponry.Most importantly though, the trailer offers you your first glimpse of the Authority, a quasi-military organisation which seems to rule the wasteland with an iron fist and one which is especially interested in acquiring ark survivors like yourself for unknown, but very ominous purposes. Power-armoured super soldiers with advanced vehicles and weaponry and a seeming fondness for arriving by jet pack, the Authority is going to prove your major obstacle as you transform from bewildered man out of time into heroic future freedom fighter.Modern combat fatigue?
