Djokovic Federer reach third round;Sports

PARIS (AP) - Novak Djokovic's perfect season is still intact,his winning streak is still alive and his clay-court form stilllooks devastating after he reached the third round of the French Open when Victor Hanescu retiredWednesday because of injury.The second-seeded Serb, who joined 2009 champion Roger Federerin the third round at Roland Garros, improved to 39-0 in 2011 afterHanescu retired while trailing 6-4, 6-1, 2-3.Djokovic also has won 41 straight matches dating to last year'sDavis Cup final."I keep on thinking only about the winning. I'm taking one matchat a time," Djokovic said. "Really, I'm not thinking about whenthis streak - this amazing streak - will end. Teixeira is now 1-1 at the French Open afterwinning his first tour-level match on Sunday.The 16-time Grand Slam champion, despite being broken early inthematch, made it look easy by winning 13 straight games from thefirstset to the third."He fought hard, and afterwards he was trying to get the bestscore," Federer said of his 22-year-old opponent. "The score wasbalancedfor 1sets, but even then he fought hard."

NBA star Brandon Jennings to visit India in promoting basket

MUMBAI: National Basketball Association (NBA) rising star Brandon Jennings ofthe Milwaukee Bucks will travel to India from 13 - 18 May 2011 toconduct a series of events to grow the game of basketball in Mumbaiand Pune.Jennings became the youngest player to score 55 points in agame on 14 November, 2009 and is the 16th NBA or WNBA player or legend totravel to India in last three years as part of the league'scontinued commitment to grow the game.Jennings said, "Having played in Italy, I have seenfirst-hand how the sport is growing globally and I am excited tovisit India with the NBA to help continue the growth ofthe game,ドラクエ10 RMT. The NBA has the best basketball playersfrom around the world and it is amazing to think that one of thekids I teach in India could one day play against me in the NBA."Jennings will attend the Jr,aion RMT. NBA/Jr,RMT. WNBA National SkillsChallenge Finals on 15 May in Mumbai. The event is the culminationof the largest school-based initiative ever conducted by the NBA in India.Since March, the NBA and HP have taught basketballand life skills to youth in 500 schools in Bangalore, Chennai,Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune.Additionally, 500 coaches attended two-day clinics in eachcity where they learned coaching techniques and received a"Basketball in a Box" coaching kit, which will provide them with aresource to grow basketball in their community. HP Dream Screenswere used at all coaching clinics to provide video demonstrationsto help illustrate certain coaching techniques.50 youth from across India have advanced to the NationalSkills Challenge Finals by qualifying at City Championships.Jennings will crown the boys and girls National Champions, andconduct a basketball clinic for participants. HP and the NBA will provide the champions withan HP laptop and a trip to New York City to train with an NBA coach and visit NBA headquarters.On 16 May, NBA Cares will partner with MagicBus, a not-for-profit organisation in India to conduct a basketballclinic in Mumbai. Magic Bus works towards creating equalopportunities for children and youth from vulnerable communities.Over the past 12 years, Magic Bus has used its unique "sportfor development" approach to empower children and youth to makepositive life choices in areas of gender, education, livelihood andhealth. Jennings will work with youth from two communities, usingbasketball to illustrate the importance of living a healthy, activelifestyle.Jennings will then travel to Pune where he will become thefirst NBA player to host an event in thecity. He will conduct a clinic for children and coaches whoparticipated in the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA program on May 17 andwill host an NBA Cares basketball clinic fordisadvantaged youth on 18 May.
