The UFC's July pay-per-view offering is rapidly filling, RIFT Platinum as Thursday morning the promotion announced it has added a lightweight bout pitting strikers Anthony Njokuani and Andre Winner.
The event, UFC 132, will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 2.
Njokuani, 13-5, 1 no contest, is fresh off his UFC debut. Less than a month ago, he fought a close, three-round standup battle with Edson Barboza, rift gold but lost in a unanimous decision. For his troubles, though, he received a Fight of the Night bonus.
Meanwhile, Winner may be looking at a win-or-go-home scenario. The Brit has lost two straight fights in falling to 11-5-1,RIFT Platinum dropping a fight to surging Dennis Siver at last November's UFC 122, as well as a decision to Nik Lentz at UFC 118.
In the overpopulated lightweight division, three straight losses could lead to unemployment. The former Ultimate Fighter finalist is 2-3 overall since joining the UFC.
UFC 132 features a main event of bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz returning from a broken hand to face No. Rift Gold 1 contender Urijah Faber. That bout is a rematch of a 2007 fight which Faber won via first-round submission.
